Organizing Is Like Working Out
Getting organized can be physically, emotionally and mentally demanding which can leave one feeling drained and dehydrated. Just like drinking water before, during and after a workout is essential to getting a body in shape, so is drinking water while you're getting your home in shape. Believe it or not, staying hydrated makes organizing easier. Treat your organizing day like a workout day and stay hydrated!
If I was to pick my number one health tip it would be, hands down, to stay hydrated. Being dehydrated can not only affect your weight, your sleep, your skin and your mood, it can also make you think you're hungry when you're actually just thirsty which can lead to eating more. This makes getting a home and body in shape that much harder.
Pizzazz Up Your Water
When it comes to water, I can't help but think of the word pizzazz. When my daughter was about eight, she looked at me and said, "Mom, you need to add some pizzazz to this room." She was trying to tell me she thought my room was bland. That's what I think of when I think of water, bland.
I'm personally not a fan of the taste of plain water. Depending on the brand, it can taste like minerals which is not a taste I enjoy. I'll take a coconut water or a sparkling water any day over a boring bottle of water. But, I know how important water is and have found delicious water enhancers to pizzazz it up and make it easier to drink.
The rule of thumb is to drink half your body weight in ounces of water every day. So if you weigh 150 pounds you would want to drink 75 oz of water a day. The easiest way to do that is to get a 24 oz Hydroflask and aim to finish 3-4 of those a day. Preferably earlier in the day, otherwise you might be waking up in the middle of the night to go to the bathroom.
Favorite Water Enhancers
Here are some of my favorite water enhancers to add some extra pizzazz to the taste of water and boost the nutritional value. They are all low calorie, zero to low sugar and no aspartame. I especially love the matcha green tea. You can drink it cold or make it into a yummy green tea latte with oat milk and raw sugar. Delicious!
